About Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

The information below is taken from

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (UC) are the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Someone in the UK is diagnosed with the diseases every 30 minutes.

Crohn’s and colitis are invisible diseases. People with Crohn’s and Colitis often appear healthy on the outside but may experience severe pain on the inside.

The symptoms include severe stomach pain, extreme fatigue, swollen joints, digestive problems, and dramatic weight loss. Extreme flare-ups can lead to hospitalisation and the disease can impact education, work, social, and family life. There is currently no known cure for Crohn’s and Colitis.
